Responce to post on Tuesday May 6th

Today due to a new program called ParentConnect parents get daily emials about all aspects of their kids school lives. The parents find about about childs grades, cuts, lates, and misbehaviors. Teachers and Parents praise the program as a informational guide and a lie detector for kids. There are also studies to show how parents knowing a kids grades will improve the kids academic achievement. The article is located at the New York Times website, http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/04/fashion/04edline.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1. Kids, on the other had, are no wheres neaar as fond as the new program ParentConnect as the parents and teachers. They feel it is nothing more than a breach on their comfort and privacy. Kids complain of the stress that their parents are giving them now that they know their grades is unbearable. There are also parents who refuse to check it and driven kids who do nothing but check it. My stance on this software is that it should be discouraged since it is up to the student to choose his or her level of academic success and in doing that their own destiny.
